A counting down of time

Every breath taken, every step made is a count down to the end...an end of time as we know it.

With the first breath inhaled the clock begins: tick tock, tick tock...time ticking away.

What will you do for God within the counting down of your time?  Your life?  How will you make a difference?  What mark will you leave, or will you leave one?  For it is how we live here—today, now, in this time— that will determine how we live in eternity.  Right now as a wife and mother God has put in my time to care for and teach my family, but even with this calling the time is ticking away.  Life is loss, says the author, and with each ticking moment we loose more time.  In time my children will—by the grace of God, get older, move out and start their own families.  With the counting down of time, my husband and I will grow older and one of us will depart this earth...leaving the other behind.  Time.  He's only given us a certain amount of it.  What will you do with yours?

Once upon a time, the Bible tells us that "the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.  Then God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light."

In God's time He gave form to the universe.  He dispelled darkness by introducing light.  Then in His time...God introduced: day one.  Day two.  Day three, and so became the days as we know them now, in our time.

The beginning and the end—it's all set in time.

The Bible records the beginning of the world and its end...  its time.

In the beginning we have—Genesis:

  • the sun being created
  • Satan victorious
  • sin entering the human race
  • people running and hiding from a holy God
  • Man kind is cursed
  • tears are shed, sorrow for sin
  • the fruit from the tree of life is not to be eaten
  • the garden and earth are cursed

The end of time—Revelation:

  • We no longer need the sun
  • Satan defeated
  • sin banished
  • reside with God forever
  • curse is removed
  • no more sin, tears and sorrow
  • God's city is glorified.  The earth is made new
  • God's people allowed to eat from the tree of life
  • paradise regained, death is defeated, and believers will live forever with God

Make the most of your time dear reader.

Look for God's gifts to you in this gift of time...the moments that He gives you.

Live your life in this moment living it fully right where you are.
