Reflecting on 1 John 1:1-4, Good Morning Girls

Good Morning Girls!

Today is our day of reflecting on what we've read so far in the book of 1 John 1:1-4.

How are things going for you?

All of this, for some of you, is rather new so I realize  some of you might still be in the phase of "trying to grasp"... that's just fine.  I'm in that phase too.

There are so many of you that I have not yet emailed.  I have soooo many emails to respond to for various reasons, but just haven't been able to get to all of them just yet.  Please know that I will.

Today I will share Courtney's video with you all.  Courtney is the lady behind the Good Morning Girls Bible study.  Before I share her video though, I want to share my reflections with you all:

When I read John's reflections about his friend, it is easy for me to see how Jesus was in fact the friend of this man John, and they loved one another.  Just as you and I have special friends that we cherish and love.  John and Jesus were that to one another.
John, however, recognized the uniqueness in his friend.  The writer recognized that his friend Jesus came into this sphere of the Cosmos as a human; although, He was divine.  John was able to witness the light and life that His friend Jesus brought to a spiritually darken dead world.
John recognized that Jesus is the light of the world.
In his wisdom and insight, John is also able to show us how true fellowship combines social and spiritual interaction, and is made possible only through a living relationship with Christ.

  1. I am really enjoying this study of 1John. I am so thankful that you invited us all to participate. In my meditations over the first few verses, one of the things I realize is that John wanted to be absolutely certain that his audience was aware that he was telling the truth. He stresses the fact that he writes about that which he saw, heard and touched with his own eyes, ears, hands. Considering that he begins to tell us about Christ, our gateway to eternal life, the author is careful to be absolutely sure we know that he did witness Christ, and that He is REAL>.

It is so important when we relay information that it is 100% truth. I really appreciate that about John.
