share your gift with me

Image
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others as faithful stewards of God's grace in various forms." 1 Peter 4:10 Are you sharing the gift that you received from God with others friends? Today is a fun post!  I want to share my son's, my youngest boy, art work with you all today. He did this all on his own when he was 8.  He did it at the same time I was learning Photoshop.  Everyday for at least an hour they have to work on something creatively and this is what he did. Sadly I had put it on my computer and didn't find it until two years later {today}.  So he's 10 now. Anyway, I want this to be a place where you can share your dreams, talents, gifts, fears... whatever it is. At the end of this post would you so kindly share in the comments below what you believe your gift to be?  It doesn't have to be anything artsy, and then share your story.  Are you using your gift?  If you are in what way?  If you ar...

Don't let your heart be troubled

Image
I woke up feeling a bit overwhelmed this morning about leading this group and writing for this cause . I mean come on, "Who am I?" Who am I that someone will listen to me?  I'm ordinary.  Very ordinary. Instantly upon having this thought, God reminded me of His talk with Moses .  And I remember that when God calls His children to a task He equips us. What is "I AM" calling you to do that is making you feel scared, uncomfortable or overwhelmed? Don't let your heart be troubled by the call dear one because when He calls you He equips you. ******** The group that I will be leading is (in)courage - Gateway to Joy.  Open registration begins September 16, 2013 and it ends September 20. I will write more on it Monday, but in the meantime here's a video to introduce you to the amazing women who work tirelessly behind the scenes with the ministry of (in)courage.   ********* Okay, now to my second project. The cause that I fe...

God has something for us to do today

Image
`L et us examine our capacities and gifts, and then put them to the best use we may.   As our own view of life is of necessity partial, I do not find that we can do better than to put them absolutely in God's hand, and look to Him for the direction of our life-energy. God can do great things with our lives, if we but give them to Him in Sincerity.   He can make them useful, uplifting, heroic.  God never wastes anything.  God never forgets anything.  God never loses anything.  As long as we live we have a work to do.   We shall never be too old for it, not too feeble.  Illness, weakness, fatigue, sorrow—none of these things can excuse us from this work of ours .  That we are alive today is proof positive that God has something for us to do today." ~ Anna R.B. Lindsay ::: "I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called." ~ Eph. 4:1

God working through social media!

Image
It's AMAZING to see the Lord moving right along in today's "social media" society.  Facebook, Twitter , blogging and all the other multi-facet networks that are used via online are all helping Christians around the world to literally connect in unique ways and make a difference in the lives of others.  We're using our gifts and talents in ways that only a decade ago, we never conceived as being possible. Today's post proves this point, and shows us how this is happening in the blogging community around the world. Compassion Bloggers a two year old online ministry works with bloggers in using their influence to help transforms lives of children and their families in poverty worldwide. How are we doing this?  We do this by... posting banner ads on our blogs telling stories that compel, you, the reader, to sponsor a child. Not only that, but we bloggers also get together and travel halfway around the world to see first hand how Compassion Internat...
