God's love reaching from shore to shore through online

Tonight I watched Sara Frankl's memorial. Sara is the blogger who passed away this Saturday due to a debilitating form of arthritis. So many people talk about Facebook, blogging and Twitter in a negative way, always saying why they "don't" participate. I understand totally. Yet I always share, though we should indeed play it safe, this new means of communication...networking, is my mission field. It's the way God is allowing me to minister to people I wouldn't otherwise be able to talk to. I'm writing this to show you the love God's people bestowed on Sara, blogger and friend to many, and vice-verse. These are some of the tweets that other's used, mostly bloggers, to express love to her during her final days and hours. Choosing Joy Tweets. There is also a beautiful write up about her and the mark she made on many of us. Tonight I watched a live stream of her memorial and yesterday her family allowed a live stream of her funeral. ...

Blogging, friend or foe to the Christian?

Blogging—social media, we that do it love it ... feel we can't do without it even.  So is it a blessing or a curse? That answer will no doubt depend on who you talk to and their frame of mind when you talk to them.  I will honestly say that moderation is the key to that answer for me.  I will also share that at this point in my blogging I have yet to have blogged in moderation. I either blog and network too little or I do it too much... wait, I don't think we can network too much or work on our blog enough. Just like housework, there is always something that needs to be done.  We just have to know when to put it down. Regardless of how much I'm doing it or not doing it, I see it as being one of the biggest blessings for the stay-at-home mom.  Sure it is a blessing to others for many reasons, but for the stay-at-home mom like myself  We have the opportunity of sharing our experiences.  The comparing of notes. Even though we always knew we wer...

Favorite Blogs Friday!

Hey ladies!  I'm doing something different over here today.  I decided to do something fun.  It's not original I must admit. I got the idea from Courtney over at one of my new found favorite blogs.  I love Courtney's personality and love her blog.  Not only do I love her blog, but I also love what she's doing over at Good Morning Girls. I'm going to let my Saturday's post be about one of my devotions from the Good Morning Girls summer reading plan. I must tell you that I am shockingly surprise at the effect that certain women and their blogs are having on me.  I never, until about two year ago, thought of blogging as a ministry.  I knew blogging was a platform that companies used to attract customers, and artistic folks used to display their talents, but never had I considered blogging when it came to spreading the Good News.  God isn't behind is He?  He's using social media to get His Word out. Y'all, the women who operate the blogs m...

Are you shouting Heaven down?

D aughters singing.  Brushes are their microphones.  Scarves are their hair. Father and son sit closely, heads hurdled almost together, discussing the basketball game: The Heats defeat.  Losing to the Magic (think that's the name).  I sit at dinner table taking it all in: the scenery.  I'm imploding. Quietness.  Stillness. "Please Lord let them grab hold of the cup.  Your cup." You tell me all the time: "Angie, be still and know that I am God." ~ Ps. 46:10 "Why won't you tell them?" I confess.  I'm worried silly about my family. The culprits?  Facebook.  Texting and Television.   I see what I've stayed home to do...to teach ...  suddenly being snatched away.  Eyes no longer sees the quiet heart of home.  And even sadder, they, my family are not having to stray from home for the experience.   Father tells the daughter,"Be on HIGH alert."  Satan is trying to grasp ...
